Overview:
This was the biggest project that we have don this year. From first introduction to game night it lasted about 6 weeks. Our group consisted of Colin, Lindsey, Olivia, and I. The whole project started out by doing a series of experiments that taught us the different types of reactions and what happens when certain metals react with each other. After spending about a week conducting those trials we were tasked with relearning the Arduino boards from freshman year. Once we had gotten the instructions on our project and what we had to include we started working immediately. The first task was to find a central theme. The theme we chose was camping and the idea behind it was that the players would set off reactions that would lead you to having a completely set up campsite. We base our board on The Dangerous Book for Boys Game because it had a very simple and appealing look to it. The next step was to figure out what reactions to include in our final product and which ones to throw in the fire. The requirements stated that we had to include a minimum of one of each of the following reactions: production of a gas, single replacement reaction, double displacement reaction, a physical change, an energy transfer, and the lighting of an LED lightbulb. You can read about all of the reactions that we included and the reason why they react in the document below.

Reflection:
This project was one of the most fun in all my years of STEM. I am a sucker for board games and have made many in the past but this one was special. Everything was a challenge, from choosing what color to paint our board to how we would actually incorporate science into our game. There were no problems in our group at all. We have all known each other for a few years and know that everyone works hard. I don't know if our group could have done anything better n this project because we were completely ready days before the deadline while many other groups scrambled during that time. Due to being very prepared our group did very well come presentation night. This project was very fun and I really enjoyed learning about all the chemical reactions while combining it with something like a board game.
